My Brazil Butt Lift and Focus T25 Hybrid Schedule

bbl-and-t25-hybrid-photoAbout a year after I finished Brazil Butt Lift, Beachbody released a new workout program from Shaun T called Focus T25.

The Focus T25 program came with a big promise: get the same results as an hour long workout would produce in just twenty-five minutes a day.

Within a week of starting Focus T25, I saw a noticeable difference in my thighs, really beginning to see the muscle definition. I remember thinking at that time that Focus T25 and Brazil Butt Lift would make a great combination program! You would get the butt sculpting benefits of BBL, along with great thigh workouts in T25.

It has been a little while since I last mentioned the hybrid, but I put together a two month Brazil Butt Lift and Focus T25 hybrid schedule.

Who the BBL/T25 Hybrid Schedule is For

This hybrid schedule is designed to shape the butt, tone the thighs, and sculpt the body. If you are looking for pure weight loss without any specific backside problem, Insanity or Focus T25 would be a better option.

The schedule is also progressive. In month 1, you will be doing only one workout on T25 workout days. During month 2, you will be adding a second Focus workout.

This program is designed for all fitness levels – beginners through advanced individuals will benefit from this schedule. All you need to remember is to go at your own pace.

There Will be Resistance Training

Yes, in this program, you will face resistance…literally. You will never get the sculpted body you want without any – it’s a fact. As you may already know, I am a firm believer in the benefits of weight training – even with light weights. For this hybrid, you’re going to need dumbbells or resistance bands. Each week you will be doing at least one resistance training workout.

But don’t worry, this schedule is not going to get span you big bulky muscles! Women don’t produce enough testosterone naturally to get big, and the weight workouts are circuits, which focus on fat burning and toning. So lift as heavy as you can safely go – that’s the secret to getting real results.

If you do not yet have the workouts, you can purchase them easily by clicking this link and navigate to the Shop section.

Just a Note About the Ab Workouts

You might be wondering after looking at the schedule why the core workouts from T25 and the Tummy Tuck workout from BBL are done on the same days.  The Focus T25 core workouts include a lot of cardio, so doing them along with Tummy Tuck is an amazing ab workout. Just be sure to do the Tummy Tuck workout second as you do not want to burn out your abs.

And…

Of course, remember to eat a healthy diet of complex carbohydrates for energy, lean proteins for muscle, healthy fats to lose fat, and lots of vegetables/fruits for your vitamins and minerals. My mantra for the month is “if man made it, I’m not gonna eat it!”.

Please leave any questions you may have about the BBL and Focus T25 hybrid schedule below and I will do my best to answer them.

  1. Hi Beth,

Love the hybrid schedule that you have put together and I think it’s pretty awesome that you take the time to respond to everyone’s questions! Everyone has different needs and your help is truly appreciated!

I have done T25 including gama before and also tried insanity, asylum, p90x and bbl but never completed any of these workout programs. I loved the results from T25 but that was 2 years ago. Recently I have gained a few pounds (10 to be exact). I am mainly looking for sculpting, especially for my lower body. I have always had cellulite and never had the bubble butt everyone wants :). I really want to tone that area and feel fabulous in jeans/shorts. I was wondering if the hybrid workout is right for me or should I just follow the lift and shape schedule from BBL. I have also taken up martial arts recently and was wondering if I will be over training. My plan is to either follow the hybrid plan you proposed or just bbl with martial arts (judo/jujitsu) 3 times a week. Will really appreciate your advice!

    1. Hi Kriti, With reading through your comment, I would probably go with BBL and your martial arts class. That along with a healthy diet and I think you will have not problem reaching your goal. Bethany

  2. Hi!
I just finished the fix and would love to start this hybrid! I own both programs but never fully completed either, and this hybrid seems to fit my fitness goals. I have about 35 lbs to lose from having 3 kids back to back and I need to tone all over… I would love to have my booty back! I’m also short with thick thighs and would love to feel comfortable in shorts for once! I would like to incorporate the fix containers in this… So which nutrition guideline would I follow? This is great… Hope it will work for me! I’m desperate lol

    1. Hi Angelique, I believe the T25 diet is easier to follow, but you can also use ideas form the BBL nutrition guide too. Whichever works best for you.

  3. Hi Beth,

First, I want to tell you how much I love reading your fitness journey and reviews. I’ve been following you since December 2015 and really love the way you take the time out from your schedule to respond to all comments and help your readers by patiently answering every single question. Thank you so much , you are amazing <3

I started working out two months back.Did modified versions of T25 Alpha and Beta rounds and I'm happy with the results so far- lost 8 pounds, which is fantastic considering I only did modified versions and cutting out only fried items from my food. After contemplating over Gamma and BBL, I decided to go with BBL as I have a lot of lower body weight to loose. Currently, I'm on day 3 of BBL and I'm worried if it is as good as T25? Sure, the reviews are great and my arms are a bit sore after doing sculpt for the first time (with 5lbs dumbbells) but I'm not sweating as much I used to while doing T25 (modified version at that) and that got me worried if I'm burning enough calories. Is this normal or am I doing something wrong?

P.S Please tell me how I can make you my beachbody coach? I already have a coach but would love it if you are a part of my fitness journey. You've been one of my biggest fitness inspiration :)

    1. Hi Crithy, Sorry for late response, your comment is very sweet and I wanted to write the best reply possible. Sweating, while it seems like a good indicator of calorie burn does not mean you are burning more calories than if you were not sweating. Sculpt for instance is more of anaerobic workout(your bodies demand for oxygen exceeds your oxygen supply(this is not bad)) anaerobic is geared to toning and sculpting lean muscle which can burn more calories in the long term. I have sent you an email about how to initiate a coach change. Bethany

  4. Thanks so much for combining these, I was pretty stoked when I saw it. I wanted to do both programs and now I can combine them however I’m curious if its too much training if I’m a runner as well (4 times a week, long run on Sundays). Do these programs suggest not running while you’re doing the weekly/monthly training? Thanks again :)

    1. Hi Erin, If you were just beginning out I would advise against it, but since it sounds like you have been running just listen to your body. If you feel like you are doing to much, cut back on the workouts or running. Bethany

  5. Hi! I’m thinking of doing the hybrid schedule and I’d like to know which one of the diet plans (BBL or T25) should I follow to get the best results. Thank you.

  6. Hello. This seems like a great hybrid. Thank you. I have been struggling with what to do first. I would like to lose weight and tone my backside as well as my thighs at the same time. what suggestions do you have? Should I do bbl first then focus 25 or start the hybrid ? I am trying to see some changes by summer which is right around the corner. Thank you

    1. HI REnee, I always suggest following a single program one time through before beginning a hybrid. If I had one to select one to start with I would choose BBL. Bethany

  7. Please advise why you SPECIFICALLY chose the combination of T25 and BBL programs. Why were these two programs chosen instead of P90, Insanity, PIYO, 21 Day Fix, etc? Thank you

    1. Hi Mika, I have done the T25 and BBL workouts. For instance, it would be hard for me to create P90 hybrid because I have not yet done those workouts. I do have a bunch of hybrids on the site if you search “hybrid” in the search bar, you should find a few more. Bethany

  8. Hey! I was wondering if anyone or if you knew of anyone who has tried this and has a review of it. I really love the BBL for my bottom half. However T25 really helps my abs and sides. Thus I wanted to do mornings of BBL and nights of T25. I am afraid this would over train, so this hybrid might work. I just want it to actually work by taking the best of both worlds per say.

    Thank you!

  9. hey bethany i know this post is old but ive read some of you other blogs and you look great by the way! :) i have been doing bbl for about a month now. i havnt seen any real results. may b lost an inch in mh waist thats it. i feel more toned and stronger… not sure wat im doing wrong. i jist started more heavier wieghts will have to continue with that and hope i see something.. also i.must say my diet isny the greatest. im not sure what to eat? im kind piky. lol what type of food should i eat when and how much its all so confusing. also i was wondering if i shuld do a hubrid of t25 or insanity to may b see results. i feel like giving up :(

    1. Hi McKenzie, seriously an inch loss around your waist is great. I hate the scale as a progress tracker as it does not account for the muscle you are building. You could have lost five pounds of fat, gained three pounds of muscle and the scale would show a two pound weight loss when actually lost five. The mirror is the best way to track results and of course how much better I’m sure you are feeling. If you are having difficulty with diet I suggest looking into the 21 Day Fix, the diet plan is helping a lot of people get a real sense of what healthy eating looks like with it’s portion approach diet. And, please do not give up, if in a year’s time you would be considered in great shape, would you still give up? Bethany

  10. HELLO,

I started out doing BBL and I love it. However, I not only need to shape my butt, I also need to lose about 25 lbs or more, and tone my arms and tummy. I recently purchased t25 and i am torn on wether i should just do it, or if i should just do bbl or a combo of both…. i love the way bbl makes my butt look, but it seems that maybe i would lose more weight on t25… just dont know what to do! What would you suggest?? Thanks so much! :)

    1. Hi Melissa, I would stick with just BBL for now. You can lose weight with BBL too, just need to monitor your calorie intake and you’ll drop the pounds. I lost about twenty pounds with one round of BBL and diet alone while toning up. -Bethany

  11. Hello There :-)

I have both the T25 and BBL. I’m wondering about the sculpt options. Is that a BBL workout or T25?
Thanks so much for putting this schedule together. I lost abt 40lbs and would like to regain muscle and tone in the backside and thigh area.

    1. Hi Akasha7 – congratulations on your weight loss so far…that is incredible and something to be really proud of!!! Sculpt is a BBL workout – it’s a 50-minute total body toning workout that will help you regain muscle and tone in your thighs and bottom :) Keep up the good work!

  12. Hi Bethany,

I haven’t worked out for almost two years now. I would like to loose weight and tone up. Should I start with just T25? Or would you recommend me trying this hybrid schedule? Also, if I were to follow this plan, would it be okay if I change the schedule a little so that I workout only five days a week? Should I push back the Saturday workout to the following Monday?

    Thank you!

    1. Hi Ami, I would suggest straight T25 to begin. Hybrid schedules are good when you are little more advanced and want to change it up. And, yes you could push the Saturday back to the Monday. -Bethany

  13. I started this workout a week ago and really enjoy the mix. I found the two kind of bland on their own and find myself looking forward to workouts now! I do find I need to have rest days while just starting out…infact I was so sore after the first 3 ddaysi couldn’t even use stairs and moving in my sleep woke me up. Subbing in the t25 stretch dvd for a workout day is a lifesaver…huge difference in my comfort after a good stretch.

Do you recommend weights as heavy as one can comfortably lift to do all reps or as heavy as possible as long as you’re not injuring yourself (and work up to those reps with that weight)?

    1. Hi Annika, congratulations on finding the right mix for you! I would recommend using the heaviest weights you can possibly lift once you are 100% used to the moves. And yes, always lift the amount of weight where you can still finish all the reps. If you can’t finish the reps, you’re not going to get the same results, since it’s the repetitions that dictate how your muscles build, whether they tighten or get larger. Just be sure not to injure yourself by doing too much too soon. I hope this helps…good luck, and keep up the good work!

  14. Hi! I know above you said the workouts can be some back to back or at separate times, but is there a preference? Workouts like Tummy Tuck or High and Tight (as long as time permits), I don’t see a problem doing back to back and they’re not very intense. But I’m not sure I’d be able to handle doing T25 and Bum Bum back to back… Thanks!!

  15. Hi there – With the time factor and since you are combining one T25 workout with a BBL, can one do the T25 part in the morning and the BBL in the evening? Thanks!

    1. Hi Luna – yes, you can do the workouts at different times of the day, because quite honestly, the best time to work out is when you have time and will actually work out. Whether that means all at one time or one in the morning and one at night is entirely up to you. Good luck!

    1. Hi Mariana – you shouldn’t do the programs simultaneously. They are each designed in such a way that to do both would really be overtraining. Plus, if you follow BBL’s combination schedule, you will already be doing two workouts each day or one, 50-minute workout which is would be way too much for the average person when combined with T25. Hope this helps – good luck!

  16. Hi Bethany,

I recently purchased T25 and will start tomorrow. This combined with a good healthy food regime as I really want to loose weight. However, I haven’t worked out that much for the last 6 months and gained a lot of weight. My plan is to start with T25 and combine the 30 days squat challenge in there, do you think that would have the same effect as your plan?
If not, then I might actually consider on trying your plan, but you left the stretching part out which is part of T25. Is there a reason for that? I would love to still stretch my muscles for a lean effect, where could I blend that part in? Do you have any suggestions?

Thank you so much for this usefull website!

    1. Hi Susan, a squat challenge likely won’t tone you up as much as the hybrid will. BBL is not just a lower body program it works the upper body as well.

You can do the stretch workout whenever you want to incorporate it, before or after a workout or even on a rest day is fine. -Bethany

  17. Hi, I was thought bbl and t25 was always a good mix, so glad you came up with a calendar like this! I can’t wait to start, I just received my bbl and there’s certain workouts for certain “butt” types do you think it would matter or affect my result by not following there calendar?

And also what equipment would I need for the best results for both ?
    Thank you!

    1. Hi Grace – if you were only doing BBL, then the schedule would definitely affect your results, however on the BBL/T25 hybrid schedule, you are only going to use specific BBL workouts, so it won’t matter. If you’re looking just to do BBL for a bit, then use the schedule that most closely fits your butt type.

To get the best results from the programs, you will need the following:
Adjustable ankle weights that go up to 5lbs on each leg
Set of exercise bands ranging from light to heavy resistance
Set of dumbbells ranging from 5-15lbs

Hope this helps, but if you do have any other questions, please let me know. Good luck!

  18. Hi,
I started to work out on Tfocus 25 and BBL from this week. I was thinking hard as to how would i combine exercises and work out. Thanks a lot for providing the calender for hybrid of Tfocus25 and BBL. I hope i would lose some serious flab around my lower tummy, thighs, hips. I was wondering if we have to work out on all ALPHA workouts from T25 or we can include BETA workouts in month 2 calender. Kindly let me know. Im looking for motivation :)

    1. HI Resh, I included both alpha and beta phase workouts in month 2. But, feel free to change it up if you think it would better your results. There’s no doubt in my mind that as long as you stick with it and commit 100%, you will get the body you’ve always wanted. Good luck! Bethany
