My Focus T25 Review – Get Real Results Working Out 25 Minutes a Day

t25I’ve heard it a million times and have struggled with it as well – there is sometimes just Not Enough Time.

Not having enough time to drive to the gym and work out for an hour a day is no longer any kind of excuse to let yourself turn into a marshmallow.

Shaun T, the creator of the hottest at-home workout INSANITY, has released a new workout program named Focus T25. It really is the ultimate workout program for those of us who always seem to be short on time.

The premise of Focus T25 is five, 25-minute workouts, five times a week. These workouts are not Sweating to the Oldies dance type workouts. You are literally getting a high intensity workout that features dynamic exercise movements – without any breaks.

Studies Don’t Lie

Exercise science has come such a long way in only the last few years. Gone are the days when hour-long jogs and starvation diets were the way to burn fat fast. Shorter and higher intensity workouts have repeated been scientifically proven to burn fat at a faster rate than lower intensity workouts that last an hour.

Who Focus T25 Workouts Are Designed For

As I write this, I am on Day 2 of the Focus T25 workout, and all I can tell you is that this workout might be the best Beachbody program ever (besides my favorite BBL, of course!) The best part about it is that it really is suitable for the beginner (lower intensity move variations are shown throughout the entire workout) looking to get in shape or the advanced fitness junkie who wants to maintain their fitness level.

For someone who is looking to get back into the thick of working out, I give Focus T25 five plus stars.

The Focus T25 Workout Schedule

Focus T25 seems to be based on the umber five when it comes to the schedule. You work out five days a week for the first five weeks on what Beachbody has deemed the ALPHA PHASE. This phase preps you for the next five weeks. If this is prep, then I am slightly nervous to see what the BETA phase brings, lol.

The second phase of the Focus T25 workout calendar is called the BETA PHASE. Again, this phase of the program is five weeks long and you continue to work out five times a week. Beachbody is also featuring a third phase called the GAMMA phase ,which can be ordered separately for those who want to continue with the program after the first ten weeks are completed. We’ll cross that bridge when we get there.

What Kind of Results Can You Expect with Focus T25?

While it is still a little too early to tell you what kind of results I’ll get, no one other than test group participants have finished the program. I can tell you that this program is not only geared for weight loss, but you will build and tone  muscle also. I am already seeing more abs and more well-defined quads.

An Overview of the Focus T25 Workouts

From the ALPHA phase of Focus T25 we have:

  • Cardio
  • Speed 1.o
  • Total Body Circuit
  • Ab Intervals
  • Lower Focus

From the BETA phase:

  • Core Cardio
  • Speed 2.0
  • Rip-T Circuit
  • Dynamic Core
  • Upper Focus

The workout package also includes a Stretch DVD that incorporates both dynamic and static stretches. Can’t wait to do the Stretch DVD.

If you’re curious what you can expect with Focus T25, have a look below at what the  workouts look like, and what people are saying about the program already.

How to Get the Most Bang for Your Buck

When ordering Focus T25, you have two main options for purchasing.

Option 1:

  • The Focus T25 Base Kit – you get the 11 workouts listed above, plus the Quick-Start Guide, Get It Done Nutrtiton Guide, ALPHA-BETA workout calendars, 5-Day Fast Track, B-Lines Resistance Band, and 24/7 Online Supprt.

The price of the Base Kit is $119.85 and when you buy directly through Team Beachbody, you receive a free bonus workout called Core Speed. You will not be able to get the free bonus workout if you buy from anywhere but Team Beachbody. You can buy directly through Team Beachbody by clicking here.

Option 2:

  • Focus T25 Challenge Pack: with the Challenge Pack option, you get everything that is listed above in the Base Kit plus a 30-day supply of meal replacement shake called Shakeology.

The price of the Challenge Pack is $180. So, for about $60, you get a month supply of Shakeology, which is really not bad when you consider Shakeology normally costs $129.95 on its own. Again, you only receive the free Core Speed workout if you order directly through Team Beachbody, which you can do by clicking here.

Note: No matter what Focus T25 package you do end up choosing, you get a 30-day money back guarantee if you are not 100% satisfied with anything at all. Plus, if you happen to scratch a disk or something, which does happen, Beachbody will send you a new one without any problems. I have experience with this one, so I know they’re very good about replacing scratched discs.

Hey bethany!i have naturally sort of athletic body and I have never been to gym my entire life and never stuck to a workout for more than 5days. I started t25 in this lockdown. It’s the only workout i did consistently. Although i never did double fridays(i only did one exercise ) and ate my regular food coz which is prettymuch balanced somedays and junk the other days.I completed alphaphase and 2weeks of beta phase. I first thought there’s no way anyone could gain muscle from these cardio workouts. I surprised myself when i saw biceps oneday suddenly. At first it took me 1hr to finish this workout and now i can do t25 without a break or sometimes with a very little break in between. I actually have a little ab definition which comes and goes. I would want to have clear ab definition. Should i continue with t25 or should i start insanity max or insanity original? What should i incorporate apart from diet for those killer abs?

    1. Hi Chandrika, Way to go with the program! Sticking with a program especially during these times is an accomplishment! There is a saying “abs are made in the kitchen” which really is true, if you want year round visible abs you are going to have to be really strict on the diet end. With that said the best abs I’ve ever had was with the Insanity MAX:30 program, I also incorporated the ab maximizer workouts/schedule in additional to the base workouts. You can find my results from that program under the sidebar Insanity category. Which workout you do is really up to you, they all produce results just kind of which workout/trainer you prefer.

Thanku so much for the reply Beth! I tried insanity max 30 once recently while doing t25. I could do only 15mins and didn’t try it again. I guess it’ll take time just like it did with t25. So should i jump to max30 or complete beta phase and then proceed with max30?

      2. 15 minutes is great! I only made it a few minutes the first time I tried a workout. It’s up to you if you want to switch, if you are feeling a little apprehensive you could complete the beta phase before moving on.

And also which is better to do between max30 and original insanity? Time is not a factor for me.

      4. I completed Max:30 and have done some of the original Insanity workouts ut did not complete the program. I don’t necessarily think on is better than the other in terms of the workout you get get but I do like the “max out challenge” that the max30 workouts provide.

  2. Hi! Not sure if you are still responding to this old post. I just started T25 and I’m worried I’ll lose the upper body strength I’ve gained from JM 30 day shred and BBL ( gained more visible results from bbl than from 30 day shred… I love BBL). I’m going to continue some of the moves from sculpt to be safe. My question is, do you think it’s ok to only do Alpha for 2-3 weeks and then move to beta and then gamma so I don’t lose strength? Your reviews and hybrids are very helpful. After I complete t25 I’m going to try t25/BBL combo.
    Thanks!

    1. Hi Jen, You should be fine with a couple weeks of the alpha schedule to get familiar with program. There is a good amount of resistance training with T25 so I would not be to concerned about losing any of your previous gains and like you said, you can always do sculpt from BBL if you like. And BBL is an awesome program! Happy to hear you like the site! Bethany

      1. Thanks for the quick reply and letting me know there is a good amount of resistance training. I’m enjoying the workouts so much, I may continue with the 5 weeks of alpha.
I’ve always wondered what types of shoes to wear for these workouts. It looks like many in the videos are wearing running shoes, though I’m guessing they are cross trainers. The only cross trainers I can find don’t have much cushioning. I try to wear running shoes for their cushioning bc of spine issues, but they pretty much stink for going side to side. Do you have any recommendations for shoes. Thanks!

      2. You’re welcome! The cross trainers that I’ve found best are Asics, good cushion and breathale too. And if you do keep with the running shoes I would look for ones that have a lower heel height to reduce the risk of ankle sprains. Hope this helps. Bethany

      3. Thanks, that’s my favorite brand in running shoes, I’ll take a look at their cross trainers. t25 is giving me more of a workout in my quads and inner thighs(my weak spots) than Bbl. Super happy about that. Only been doing it a short time and I’m seeing a reduction in my remaining inner tube… Yippie!! It’s that last stubborn .5-1′ that’s soooo hard to get rid of. Yippie!!!! Thanks!

  3. T25 or the 21 day fix??? I am 160 and want to lose 10-15 pds in 6 weeks! I hold my weight in my lower body. I would say I am not a beginner when it comes to exercising, but I don’t love doing it. I am a very busy mom with a full time job as well. I really only have small windows of 1/2 hour to exercise a day. Which program should I buy?

    1. Hi Maddy! I would definitely go for T25, the shorter, intense workouts will fit more easily into your schedule and the fat-burning workouts will slim you down while sculpting lean muscle. It also comes with a really simple to use diet plan that should also help you if you’re short on time. I hope this helps! You got this! Bethany

  4. Hi there, I happened to come to your site while looking for a comparison of P90x and Insanity. I’m a mom with a 20 month old and 3 month old and want to lose 30 pounds. I’m 5′ 5″ and weigh 150. I have insanity from a friend but was wondering if P90x would be better. But now I am wondering Focus25 would be the best? I want to lose weight and get toned. I have a lot of excess belly back and thigh junk that I want to get rid of. Thank you!

    1. HI Helen, You could give the Insanity workout a try since you already have it and if you find it to intense you could more to T25. Bethany

    1. Hi Esther, You could add in it on a day that you have the time, basically a double day or replace one of the other core workouts. Bethany

  5. Wow, this looks I intense, but doable and I love that it’s only 25 minutes. Maybe once I’m finished with bbl I’ll give this a go. :) please keep us updated.

    1. Hi Kate, it is intense, but I’m really enjoying it thus far.

Luckily, Tania(from INSANITY) does an excellent job as the modifier in these workouts. I try to keep up the best I can with Shaun T and when I need to lower my heart rate I switch to following Tania and then go back to Shaun T when I can.
