I remember the original P90X Results and Recovery formula. It had a creamsicle flavor and that was one of the better-tasting products on the market back then.
But it’s old school, likely discontinued because it was very high in calories from the added sugars and had the nutritional values more similar to a weight gain shake than a pure protein shake.
As a comparison – the 2026 P90X supplement line is here:
The new P90X 100% Whey Protein (130 cals / 25g protein) is much lower in calories and higher in protein than the old P90X Results & Recovery Formula (220 cals / 10g protein).
Keynote: These supplements will be available on BODi first and then be sold in local retail stores not just online. I have heard that once they do go live in stores, there will be some sort of way of getting access to the P90X workouts with any P90X supplement purchase, which you can get online today (free 30-day trial to BODi with any purchase).
What Are the New P90X Supplements?

This new line of nutritional supplements is what they call “stackable” in the supplement fitness industry, which basically means taking one will not interfere with taking another.
Each with their own “P90X Factor” ingredient that “sets them apart” from the competition (basically marketing and a formula tweak).
They are called “stackable supplements” meaning you can take one or five, they all have different purposes in the stack “protein + pre + creatine + hydration + energy”.
They P90X Supplement Line Includes:

You would take this post-workout or anytime you need a protein boost. P90X 100% whey protein is designed to be a low calorie option to help muscle repair and recovery.

Breakdown of the P90X Supplement Ingredients
The new P90X supplements are pretty solid from a performance standpoint, but they are not what some hardcore fitness enthusiasts consider to be “clean” supplements.
I’ve looked through all of the supplement ingredients (not just the top 5) and while some products like the P90X 100% Whey and P90x creatine are low/no fillers, some have some additives that are designed to add flavor, improve texture, and improve appearance.
Some of the new P90X supplements, particularly pre-workout and energy formulas, do contain sucralose (especially the flavored performance drinks like pre-workout or energy). This is a widely used sugar substitute that is FDA-approved, but new studies are emerging that it may have adverse affects on the gut microbiota in some people.
Tips for Using P90X Supplements Effectively

Here is the timing I would recommend and/or combinations to use.
- Pre-Workout Stack
For energy focus and performance use the following 20-30 minutes before the start of your workouts.
- P90X Pre-Workout
- P90X Energy if you are really feeling not into it
Combine that water and a light carb like a piece of fruit or white rice to get your body ready for optimal workout performance.
- Intra-Workout
Staying properly hydrated is the goal during workouts.
- P90X Hydration
- Water
If your workout is intense, which is likely if you’re following P90X Generation Next (unless it’s a recovery day), because you will sweat. Intra-workout supplements can help replenish the electrolytes you lose through sweat.
- Post-Workout
In my opinion, helping your body recover after workout is the most important aspect. And getting the proper nutrition as soon as you can after your workout makes supplements a great go-to.
- P90X Whey Protein
- P90X Creatine
- Carb from food(fruit, white rice, oats)
Consuming protein after workouts helps repair muscles and carbs help refill the glycogen in muscles (energy). Creatine is a great supplement for performance and can be taken anytime, including a post-workout shake to make sure you take it daily.
Where to Get Them (And What I Recommend)
The new 2026 P90X supplement line is only available now through the official BODi websites. Supplements can be purchased individually or available in different combinations at a reduced price
You can find them all here: Link to BODi P90x Supplements
As I said earlier, the P90X supplements (plus other supplements from BODi like Shakeology) will soon be available on retail shelves. I will update this post when they are.
My Honest Recommendation
Supplements are just that, they are meant to supplement a good diet and workout plan. With that said, here is my take on this line:
- Whey protein + Creatine – these are the most helpful to nutrition and performance.
- Pre-Workout – these are helpful if you need it – you could also have a strong cup of coffee or green tea can help, too.
- Energy + Hydration – these are ore optional and not essential, although hydration-like supplements are becoming more and more popular.
Conclusion: A Pro Tip to Get Started with Supplements
Getting in some carbs and protein within 60-120 minutes after a strength workout is an ideal place to start with supplements. A carb to protein ratio of 2:1 is recommended.
And a simple way to do that is a whey protein shake containing 20-25 grams of protein with a large banana or another piece of fruit in it. Even my 10+ year article – P90X Recovery Drink Alternative from the original P90X workout
This is a proven and effective way to help recover from your workouts, reducing muscle soreness and restoring muscle glycogen stores.
