Is Ka’Chava Worth It? An Honest Review After Looking at the Ingredients, Nutrition, Pros & Con

Ka’Chava is known as The World’s Healthiest Shake, but is it really? It definitely isn’t the least expensive protein shake on the market, so what makes Ka’Chava different enough that so many people are willing to pay more?

Is it really healthier than other shakes out there or is it mostly just good marketing?

If you’ve been wondering whether Ka’Chava’s is for you, you’re in the right place. In this post, we’ll go over its ingredients, the pros and cons, who it’s best for, and whether it lives up to the hype.

What Is Ka’Chava?

Ka’Chava is an extremely popular plant-based meal replacement shake that’s been on the market since 2014. It’s densely nutritious and combines whole foods-based ingredients, high protein, high fiber, 26 essential vitamins and nutrients with 85+ superfoods to provide you with a quick, healthy option.

That’s because Ka’Chava was created as a healthy, convenient way to replace a meal, not just a quick way to increase your protein intake. They even call it a whole body meal shake whatever that actually means. But basically what I think it means is that there are a lot more ingredients go into Ka’Chava than you will see in a protein shake, which will increase the price.

What’s In Ka’Chava? A Look at the Ingredients & Nutrition

Unlike traditional protein powders, Ka’Chava is a complete meal replacement shake. That means it’s full of many healthy ingredients to support a healthy lifestyle.

Here’s a quick breakdown of what’s inside:

Plant Protein & Plant Milks Blend

Ka’Chava features a blend of proteins to make up its 25g of protein. It uses a combination of plant-based proteins and plant-based milks. These plant-based options are easier to digest, dairy-free and full of extra nutrients to help keep you feeling fuller longer, fuel your muscles, and promote healthy weight loss.

Ka’Chava also has a complete amino acid profile that contains all nine essential amino acids if that’s important to you and your goals.

Greens & Superfoods Blend

Ka’Chava has a lengthy list of good-for-you ingredients in its Greens & Superfoods blend. Here are the benefits of each and what they do for your body:

Green & Superfood Blends

  • Greens: Ka’Chava includes several nutrient-dense leafy greens and grasses that are rich in vitamins, minerals, chlorophyll, and phytonutrients. These have been linked with fighting cellular damage, reducing inflammation, and lowering disease risk.
  • Adaptogens: These are plants that help your body adapt to stress more easily. Ka’Chava has over 1000mg.
  • Mushrooms: There’s been a lot of hype around mushrooms recently, and Ka’Chava contains a few different organic variations. Mushrooms are rich in antioxidants that help support brain health, boost your immunity, help protect your heart and are linked to naturally increased energy.
  • Antioxidants: Ka’Chava’s ingredients include many antioxidant-rich fruits. These foods are high in polyphenols, which help reduce inflammation in the body and combat cellular damage.

As you can see, every ingredient in Ka’Chava’s ingredient list is chosen for its specific health benefits. You won’t find any secret or proprietary blends here that get from these types of shakes from MLM-based companies that can cost up to double.

Fiber

Ka’Chava has 6g of easily digestible fiber in every flavor to help keep you feeling satiated, support healthy blood sugar levels, and keep your digestive tract happy and healthy. Because we all now understand how important having a healthy gut is to your overall health.

Digestive Enzymes & Probiotics

Like many other meal replacement shakes, Ka’Chava includes digestive enzymes, prebiotics and probiotics to help keep your gut healthy and happy by helping break down nutrients and support overall digestion.

Healthy Fats

Ka’Chava contains a variety of healthy fats. Healthy fats support a healthy brain and heart, as well as help digest vital nutrients. They are essential to include in your diet as part of a healthy lifestyle. And even more important to include in a shake, so it helps digest all those important vitamins and nutrients.

Is Ka’Chava Really Worth the Cost?

Whether or not Ka’Chava is worth it for you really depends on your goals, your preferences, and your budget. It is absolutely one of the higher quality meal replacement shake options out there with what I feel is one of the best flavors and textures.

Ka’Chava is a super convenient and healthy option for those looking for a quick, nutrient-dense meal. I know I love it because I’m extremely busy and trying to stick to a healthy diet isn’t always easy when I don’t have time to prepare a healthy meal for myself. Ka’Chava Pros and Cons

If you’re still wondering if Ka’Chava is the right choice for you, I’m going to break down the most common pros and cons to help you make a more informed decision. It’s absolutely worth it to me and my husband, but it might not be for you.

Pros of Ka’Chava

  1. More than just a protein shake, Ka’Chava is a low calorie complete meal replacement made with a lot of healthy ingredients.
  2. Ka’Chava is nutrient-dense compared to many other meal replacements and protein shakes available. It offers so many more benefits to your body beyond just more protein.
  3. Its convenience fits even the busiest lifestyle. Because you just need a hand mixer or blender to prepare your Ka’Chava your favorite way, it’s a huge time saver if health is important to you as well as time.
  4. Ka’Chava is high in protein with 25g per serving and 6g of fiber in every flavor. This makes it a more satisfying shake.
  5. You simply mix two scoops of Ka’Chava with 12oz of your choice liquid base, which definitely fills you up more.

Cons

  1. Ka’Chava has a higher price tag that doesn’t fit into all budgets. It’s more expensive than a basic protein shake, which it should never be compared to. As far as meal replacements go, it is a little bit higher than the least expensive meal replacement shakes out there, but the ingredients are better. And more than 65,000 customers give it five stars.
  2. Ka’Chava is not a universal meal replacement shake for everyone in the world. Some people may want or need additional calories, more protein, or less carbs depending on their goals.
  3. Its taste and texture are a personal preference. I personally love the taste and texture of Ka’Chava better than anything else I’ve tried, but I also know that plant-based shakes can have a different flavor and consistency compared to whey-based options if that’s what you’re used to.
  4. Ka’Chava is not a weight loss solution on its own. While it can support healthy habits and help you reach your weight loss goals, it won’t make up for an unhealthy lifestyle across the board.
  5. You need to mix the two scoops of Ka’Chava with 12oz of water, which is a lot if you’re used to adding only 8oz of liquid to one scoop of your shake. I know it takes me longer to drink, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing.
  6. It can take a few days for sensitive tummies or ones that are used to unhealthy living to get used to Ka’Chava. The good news is that it does go away pretty quickly. If you know you have a sensitive stomach or have been eating junk food for sustenance, try one scoop for a few days then move up to two.

How to Save Money on Ka’Chava

why people choose kachava 25 grams plant based protein superfoods fiber vegan and dairy free quick meal replacement

The easiest way to always save money on Ka’Chava is to make sure you order your Ka’Chava on Subscribe & Save.

Ordering on Subscribe & Save saves you 15% on every order, which brings the total per serving down from $5 to $4.28 or price per bag from $69.95 to $59.95. That’s a huge difference!

Worried about another subscription?

I know I’m always hesitant to sign up for anything on subscription, because you never know how easy it’ll be to make adjustments.

When I didn’t need another bag for my next shipment because I was slow to start, it was so incredibly easy to make changes to my subscription that it’s not even worth letting the thought of signing up for subscription scare you away from saving each month.

That way, you’ll always have your shake delivered how often you’d like. Plus, they seem to give you free stuff every few bags as a reward for your loyalty.

Other Ways to Save on Ka’Chava

Ka’Chava may sometimes have sales or promotions, but I wouldn’t rely on that before making a decision.

When you consider how much grabbing fast food or stopping by your local coffee shop costs (I know a single artery-clogging donut is over $2 now in our area), it makes sense to invest your money in something that will work for your body, not against it. Even a smoothie shop costs a lot more and lunch at a restaurant even more.

Is Ka’Chava Good for Weight Loss? My Personal experience with Ka’Chava

top view of blended kachava shake in mug

Ka’Chava wasn’t designed specifically to be a weight loss product, but it can absolutely be useful when trying to lose weight. You simply replace one meal a day with the easy-to-make shake. Or you can also use it as a supplement to support your overall goals using it more as a healthy snack option.

I personally drink Ka’Chava every other day, since on more days than not, I need a quick, easy, delicious and healthy meal option to help stick to my nutrition goals, especially during summer when working full-time and having all three kids at home.

All that said, Ka’Chava can support weight loss with its high protein, high fiber convenience. It’s satisfying and easy to keep track of calorie-wise. As long as you’re also following a fairly healthy lifestyle otherwise, Ka’Chava can help make sticking with your health goals easier.

I know since I introduced Ka’Chava to my routine, I am losing almost a full pound more each week vs when I wasn’t drinking it as often. I’m not saying the same will happen for you or that it’s from adding Ka’Chava to my diet alone, but I think the higher protein and its extremely healthy ingredient profile really make a difference, helping to keep me feeling full for longer, helping me feel more energized, and helping to curb any cravings.

What Does ka’Chava Taste Like?

I haven’t tried many Ka’Chava flavors, since I have always loved vanilla, and Chocolate Mint and Coconut acai just don’t sound appetizing to me even though they’re some of the most popular flavors. And that’s only because I like adding extra ingredients like frozen fruit and vanilla mixes the best for me although I’m sure Strawberry flavor would work, too.

I will update the post when/if I decide to switch up my monthly flavors or try the sample pack.

What I can tell you for sure is that Ka’Chava is one of the smoothest shakes I’ve ever had. And that’s saying a lot with how many different brands I’ve tried. Plus it’s surprisingly creamy just blending with water. I’ve only tried the vanilla flavor so far, which is because I love vanilla, always have. In case you’re wondering, it’s very pleasant natural-tasting vanilla flavor, but I would guess every other flavor is equally as smooth and delicious.

The other thing I really love is that it doesn’t contain stevia, which I can always taste even the tiniest amounts.

What flavors does ka’Chava come in?

Right now, Ka’Chava has a variety of delicious flavors to choose from:

  • Vanilla
  • Chocolate
  • Strawberry
  • Coffee
  • Chai
  • Chocolate Mint
  • Coconut Acai
  • Matcha

One thing I like to do is add some extras to my shake to actually make it a real, 300+ calorie meal replacement. Otherwise, I’d starve.

To my vanilla Ka’Chava, I’ll add a cup of frozen organic strawberries and a half cup of organic frozen blueberries to my shake and a tablespoon of chia.

Here are some other things you could easily add to your shake to make it your own:

  • Peanut butter or PB2
  • Almond, oat, rice, soy or other type of plant-based milk
  • Cow’s milk
  • Fruit (bananas and berries blend very easily)
  • Coffee
  • Cinnamon

Final Verdict: Is Ka’Chava Worth It?

At the end of the day, whether or not Ka’Chava is for you too really depends on you, your needs, and your goals.

What I can tell you is that if you’re looking for a convenient, nutrient dense, whole foods-based meal replacement shake, Ka’Chava is one of the strongest options out there. Offering a lot more than just increased protein intake, it’s a shake dedicated to supporting your healthy lifestyle when life gets busy.

If you’re looking for the cheapest protein powder or meal replacement shake available, Ka’Chava probably isn’t going to be worth the price for you. There are too many less expensive options out there available to you that can help you hit your daily protein goals. Are the ingredients as good? Likely not, but I also know sometimes it doesn’t work.

Ka’Chava was created to make healthy eating easier on days when things get hectic and something easy to make and healthy! is worth it.

If Ka’Chava is going to help you stick with a healthier lifestyle and stay consistent with your weight loss goals, Ka’Chava is a worthwhile investment in your health.
