An Introduction to Super Trainer Jericho McMatthews
Jericho is a busy mom with multiple personal training certifications and more than a decade of experience. She is fun, upbeat and energetic – everything I happen to love in a trainer. Even when you’re doing the workouts and literally feel like you can’t do another rep, she makes it easy to keep going with her motivational style.
Jericho has a passion for dance and martial arts, which shows in all of her workout routines. This brings a variety of different challenging moves you might not see in other workouts. You might know her from Core De Force, a mixed martial-arts inspired program.
What Makes This Program Unique?
This workout program goes into the importance of creating a healthy morning routine and how starting your day with morning exercise can improve your entire day, making you more productive, while giving you the lean toned body you’ve always wanted.
You get the Be 100 journal to help you track your progress. There are empowering and motivating activities to complete each day to help you show up each day. The program also comes with a wall calendar, so you can cross off each workout you complete, which is similar to the Seinfeld method of productivity.
Music Plays A Big Role
This is the first Beachbody program ever to feature a live DJ, which I didn’t think was such a big deal when I first heard about it. Until I tried the workouts – and I absolutely love it! It’s like taking a live group class from the comfort of your own home or as they say, it’s like “a party.”
All I can say it that it does makes working out seem easier to, you’re always doing the moves to the perfect beat, which somehow seems to make the minutes just go by extremely fast. This might be the reason why people may workout longer when listening to music than without.
The Program Progresses As You Progress
I feel like this is one of the best workouts when it comes to get you prepped for the actual program. This is what makes it a good option even for a true beginner. There is a comprehensive 5-Day prep week with shortened versions of all the workouts. It builds momentum. Basically as you get further along into the program and build more endurance, strength and flexibility, the moves become more complex and challenge you until you’re kicking butt by the end. However, if you’re already pretty advanced in your fitness level, you will enjoy the more challenging moves from the very beginning.
The Equipment You Need to Get Started
There is no special equipment you need to have when it comes to this program. You’ll just need the following:
- Light, medium and heavy weights
- Workout mat/yoga mat (optional)
- Towel (optional)
In the workouts, 8-, 10-, and 12-pound dumbbells are recommended for Morning Meltdown 100. You may want to select dumbbells a little lighter or heavier depending upon your fitness level. I started a little lighter the first couple of workouts to get down the form of each exercise before moving up to heavier weights. I started with 5-,8- and 10-pound weights.
Morning Meltdown 100 Workouts Reviewed
The workouts form the Morning Meltdown are only 20-30 minutes each. This makes it a good option if you’re busy and seem to never be able to find the time to work out. They are high-energy, fast-paced and pretty fun with everything from weightlifting moves you’re probably familiar with to dance-inspired jumps and MMA exercises.
Whether you’re a beginner or more advanced, prepare to be challenged by workouts like Core Inferno, Total Body Badass, Re-Vibe, Fight Club, and LIT Cardio.
Make Your Mornings Matter
These workouts are meant to be done in the morning, you press play and get on with your day energized, refreshed, and ready to take on the day – no excuses. But this is the ideal. If you have something that prevents you from working out in the morning or you just can’t physically do it, then do what’s best for you, your schedule, and your body. Exercise no matter what time of day has numerous health benefits.
Can A Beginner Do the Morning Meltdown 100?
Absolutely! The program is officially listed as being for intermediate-advanced fitness levels, but I feel this program could be for anyone from beginner to advanced fitness levels – assuming you’re healthy enough to start a fitness program. Jericho is always very thorough with explaining the moves, which makes it easy for a true beginner to learn proper form and avoid injury. And you will progress the further you get into the program, even if you have to follow the modifiers for every move when you first start out or you need to walk it out, by the end, you’ll be amazed at how far you’ve come.
There Are Two Modifiers
There are always two dedicated modifiers you can follow. If you have any limitations that you’re unable to do high impact moves or need to tone it down a little because you’re just starting out, you can still follow this workout.
It’s a Total Body Workout
Morning Meltdown is a full body workout and gives you a complete rotation of high intensity fast-paced cardio, strength training, mobility, active recovery, and more. You will be leaner, stronger, and healthier than ever when you commit to this program for 100 workouts.
The Morning Meltdown 100 Workout Schedule
The Morning Meltdown is broken up into 5 phases of 20 workouts each. In each phase, you do 10 workouts, then the intensity of these workouts amps up by adding 100-second challenges for the next 10 workouts. Every workout is unique, you’ll never be doing the same workout twice! This is a major plus if you tend to get bored with repeating the same workout every few days.

Hi Morgan, I moved on to 6 Weeks of The Work. It looks intimidating but it is a really good program if you want to test your self. There is also nothing wrong with repeating if you like it! My sister loves the program and is planning to do the same.

Will I get the same results if I do Morning Meltdown 100 in the evening or night?
It is okay to do the workouts at any time of the. The time of day you do the workouts should not not really influence the results you get from the program. The “morning” part I think is just to get people in the daily habit of working out.
Do you have to purchase BOD to get the program? What is the difference between the VIP and ordering on Oct1?
The Morning Meltdown 100 workouts are only available via Beachbody On Demand. VIP ordering gets you early access. The program becomes available to all BOD members on October 1, 2019 no need to order VIP early access at that time.
I’m 6 weeks postpartum and am wanting a new program to jump back into fitness. With my last pregnancy my bounce back program was T25. Would you recommend this one to drop the last 20 pounds of baby weight?
Hi Maresa, Congratulations! As long as you been cleared by the doctor. There are two modifiers in case you need to modify any of the moves. Listen to your body!
Do you have to workout every day?
No, you do not have to do a workout everyday. The workout program comes with a calendar that you cross the number off that represents the workout that you did for the day. The goal is to do all 100 workouts. You can do one everyday if you’d like, take a day off when you need to or even double up if you would like. So it is pretty flexible, I’ve been enjoying this program.
Is the program available on October 1st to all members or do you still have to purchase the package of your choice?
Yes, the workouts and digital access will be available to all members then. The accessories packages will remain available after that time too.
